SICKTOUR 2025.

Updated: Jan 26

SICK The Mag hosts multiple racing events every year, one of which is the Sick Tour—an event that requires participants to drive their race cars to and from each of the four tracks where the competition is held. Prior to this event, I was unfamiliar with the magazine and its racing series, but I’ve since become an avid fan.

Although I was still shooting with the goal of building my portfolio, this event carried a very different energy. The Sick Tour brought some of the most outrageous street-legal machines I’ve ever seen to the track. Compared to Streetcar Takeover, the structure was entirely different. These races were stacked over the course of seven days, whereas Streetcar Takeover’s circuit was spread out over weeks, drawing different participants to each location.

The transportation element of the Sick Tour was something I had never truly considered before. Driving a car capable of reaching—and often surpassing—200 mph in the quarter mile is impressive on its own. But adding hundreds of miles of public-road driving between tracks, racing the same car the following day, and completing four track performances in a single week presents an unparalleled challenge. The concept still leaves me in awe of the participants’ dedication to building machines capable of handling extreme racing conditions while remaining functional on public roadways—through busy intersections, standstill traffic, and even school zones.

This was another event I photographed solely for myself, but also for those I hope will one day discover my work and seek out my skill set. My goal remains the same: to provide unmatched imagery of these cars for owners, publications, and any other outlets where these machines—and the people behind them—deserve to be showcased.
